Leprechaun Loop 8K + Fun Run: race description

Team Summit Foundation is excited to host the 6th annual Leprechaun Loop 8K on Friday, March 17, at 6:30pm in downtown Davidson, North Carolina. Also returning for 2017 is a 1-mile Fun Run, starting at 6:00pm.

Following both races, the Leprechaun Loop Festival will be held at Summit Coffee Co.'s Basecamp location. The festival is free for all runners and the public, and features beer from Sierra Nevada, live music from the Mike Strauss Big Band, two food trucks and more. 

In addition to race entry, each registration entitles a runner to a Race Hat (if registered by March 5), a free drink post-race and free admission into the post-race festival.

The Leprechaun Loop is the first of 3 events in the 2017 Twilight Racing Series presented by Summit Coffee. The Summit Solstice 12-Hour Relay will be held on Saturday, June 17, and the Twilight 5k benefiting Movember will be held on Saturday, November 11.

 All races benefit Team Summit Foundation, a 501©,(3) organization that helps make summer camp and eductional opportunities possible for all children and teens in the Lake Norman area. For more information about TSF, please visit teamsummitfoundtion.org. 


Awards

Awards will be given for the top 3 males and females overall, plus awards for age groups: top 3 in ages 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50-59, and 60+.

Thursday, March 16:
11am-1pm: Packet Pickup at Charlotte Running Co., Mooresville.
4pm-7pm: Packet Pickup + St. Patrick's Day Party at Summit Coffee, Davidson.


Friday, March 17:
4:30pm: Registration &, Packet Pick Up
6:00pm. Fun Run Start
6:30pm: 8K Start
6:00-10:00pm: Leprechaun Loop Festival
8:00pm: Race Awards

The Course

A beautiful, challenging nighttime 8k road course through scenic Davidson, past churches and homes, along scenic paved greenways, and finishing on South Street near Summit Coffee. The course features a fast first 2 miles, before giving way to a steady next 2 miles and finishing with a challenging last loop.
