U.S. Coast Guard 75th Anniversary 7.5K Fun Run/ 1 Mile Walk: race description
Coast Guard Enlisted Assocation (CGEA) is hosting the Aviation Centennial 5K Fun Run and 1 Mile Walk in parnership with the 2016 North Carolina Potato Festival. The Fun Run/Walk will start and finish at Charles Creek Park –, a 3-acre park suitable for fishing, outdoor games, boating, volleyball, picnics and just enjoying the waterfront. The park has a wonderful playground designed especially for the kids and a picnic shelter with restrooms, grills, and tables.
This is a 7.5K Fun Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Walk to celebrate the North Carolina Potato Festival and “,75”, years of the United States Coast Guard in Elizabeth City. Everyone of all ages is welcome to participate in this fun event. Selection as a “Coast Guard City” is a significant achievement for Elizabeth City, earned as a result of 75 years of building a strong and lasting relationship between the Coast Guard men and women who serve in Elizabeth City and out community.
