Girls on the Run of Northwest Ohio Fall 5k

Are you up for an amazing celebration of GIRL POWER? Our Fall 5k, which will again be held at The University of Toledo, on Saturday, November 19th, will be the culmination of our Girls on the Run of Northwest Ohio Fall season. All of our participants will be completing the 5k along with their family and friends. This event is NOT just for our participants and NOT just for girls…,.we would love for our whole community to come out and show our support for these girls!

In the Spring, we had nearly 1,500 participants at our race and we had an amazing time! On November 19th, we are expecting another large crowd and an even more amazing experience!

Feel free to come decked out in a cape, a tutu, a crown, a colorful hairdo…,.anything goes!

Defeating the Girl Box …, just a little taste of what GOTR is all about

Our inner superheroes constantly battle the Girl Box. Yeah, the GIRL BOX. Walk down the doll aisle in any store, and you'll see rows and rows of identical boxes. Lots and lots of perfect little boxes. Society pressures all women to fit into its version of these perfect little boxes: the Girl Box. Inside it, we're trying to be who we're told we're supposed to be (you know –, skinny, pretty, perfectly dressed, etc…,.), instead of being our truly awesome, amazing, powerful, unique selves! Isn't it time you broke out of your Girl Box?

Participants of the Girls on the Run Fall 2016 program, as well as any participant under the age of 13, will receive a medal
Overall &, Overall Master (40+) male and female
Age group awards in 5 year increments for runners 13 years and older

Early bird registration for runners 13 years and older thru 10/31/16: $25

Standard registration for runners 13 years and older 11/1/16 –, 11/19/16: $35

Registration for runners 12 years and younger: $20

Little Star (1/4 mile run) for runners in 2nd grader or younger: $15 (includes a t-shirt this season)

Girls on the Run of Northwest Ohio will not authorize refunds in the event that the race is cancelled. Please refer to the race registration waiver to more details on our race cancellation policy.

Race day registration will begin at 7:30AM. Race begins at 9:00AM and will begin between the Glass Bowl and Savage Hall Arena. We will again have our Little Star Run, which is a fun 1/2 mile run for children in 2nd grade or younger, which will begin at 8:15AM.  Chip timing will be used for all participants who are 13 years or older. We will have a mat at the beginning of the race to allow for actual chip timing from “,starting line”, to “,finish line”, for those individuals who are timed.  There will be three water stations on the course. Healthy snacks and refreshments will be provided at the finish line.

Packet pick-up will take place for two nights for our Fall race.  Packet pick-up will be available either at Dave’s Running in Sylvania on Thursday, November 17th from 5:30-7:30PM or at Dave's Running in Perrysburg on Friday, November 18th from 5:30-7:30PM or on race day beginning at 7:30AM at the course.
