Gruglefest 5K

GRUGELFEST 2016 will be held the weekend of September 9 –, 11 at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel, 101 N Summit Street in downtown Toledo. Named for the late Ralph Grugel, leader of Cleveland’s Eagle Jazz Band, GRUGELFEST has replaced the annual Fall Dixieland Festival produced for more than 20 years by the EARLYJAS Club of Northeast Ohio. Traditional New Orleans Jazz will be featured during 4 sessions: Friday night (6 PM – Midnight), Saturday afternoon (11 AM – 5 PM), Saturday night (6 PM – Midnight), and Sunday (11:30 AM – 6 PM).

New this year is a 5K run along the water way of downtown Toledo. Several jazz bands will line the course and entertain you as you jog along the water way.

Theme

A New Orleans style jazz gets you in the mood to dance and be merry, dress in your best mardis gras attire to soak in the whole atmosphere.

No age group awards, but dress for the occasion and get rewarded. The top 10 participants dressed in “,Mardis Gras”, flare finishers receive an award.

The first 500 registered runners will receive a session pass to Gruglefest good for any afternoon session.
