The Alicia Titus Memorial Peace 5K &, 1 Mile Walk/Run for Peace Run: race description
When: Saturday, September 10, 2016 @ 9:00 a.m.
Where: Urbana University, 579 College Way Urbana, Ohio 43078 (located on the south end of Urbana off High Street and College Way)
Course: Starts at the Urbana University Student Center, proceeds on campus to College Way past historic Browne Hall, turns north onto High Street, heads east on Miami Street through the Monument Square, south on Main Street to Broadway, south on High Street to Freedom Grove around the newly resurrected Memorial for 9/11 victims, then north on High Street to the east entrance of Urbana University and finishes at the Student Center.
Parking: All Parking Lots on campus.
Registration: 5 K Walk/Run: $25 prior to August 19, 2016 (includes t-shirt), 5 K Walk/Run $15 (UU Students and Boy Scouts of America)' $35 5K-Race Day Registration begins @ 8:00 a.m. (T-shirt not guaranteed) 1 Mile Walk/Run: $15 prior to August 19, 2016 (includes t-shirt) * 5yrs &, under FREE

Proceeds: Proceeds go to the Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund and Scholarship Fund
Features: Live music, post-race refreshments, water stops, awards, door prizes, raffle, face painting and other children&rsquo,s activities!
Awards: Overall male and female awards for 5K and Wheelchairs, top three in each age category for 5K participants to be presented after the race at the Student Center. A special 9/11 Commemorative Cross will be awarded to the First Responders with the most participants in the walk/run.
Age Categories: Male and Female 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and older.

Alicia was killed in the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. She was a flight attendant on United Airlines Flight 175 that crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
The Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund was established at Urbana University in August 2002, by the Titus family and church friends, all of whom have close affiliations with the University. The purpose of the fund is to carry out the legacy and spirit of Alicia&rsquo,s life by sponsoring programs for the University and community that promote and support a culture of peace.
