Scout Strong 5K/10K: race description

A fun run celebrating the 100th anniversary of Scouting in the Cascade Pacific Council.  This run/walk is part of Scouting's Scout Strong fitness program.  A race for all ages and ability levels.  The non-competitive run will include a t-shirt and token in the race fees.


Aid Stations

Aid stations (water, Gatorade) at the Banks Trailhead and at Crossman Place.  The 5K passes the first aid station twice and the 10K passes both aid stations twice.


Awards and Post Race Refreshments

This event is non-competitive.  There will be a clock running, but performance awards will not be given.  Competitive runners are encouraged to self-time.  All participants will receive a commemorative coin.  All participants and volunteers will be eligible for prizes in a raffle.  Fruit and beverages will be available after the race.

Packet Pick-up

On race day at the Banks High School Track (Kelly Field), starting at 7:30am.  There is no pre-race packet pick-up.


Parking

Park at Banks High School and Middle School (which share a parking lot), at Banks Elementary School, or on city streets.  DO NOT park at Sunset Park, as this is private property.


Registration Fees

Registration fee for the 5K and 10K is $50.00 by September 22nd at 9am.  (Registration closes 48 hours before the event, but you can register day of race for $60.00.)  The Kid's Lap is free.  Registraion includes a T-shirt and a commerative coin, plus post race goodies.  Proceeds help support the Scouting Program.  Registration is online only.


Safety

To enjoy all that our event has to offer, and for the safety of all participants, we encourage a headphone-free environment.  Strollers, baby joggers or similar devices are permitted, but should start in the back of the pack.  Dogs are nor permitted.  On Trellis Way and Main Street, please stay on the sidewalk and don't go in the street.  The trail is open to other runners, walkers, and cyclists, so please be mindful of others on the trail. 


T-shirt

A limited edition tech T-shirt is available (in unisex sizes).  Only pre-registered participants are guarenteed a shirt, so register early to get yours!


Where to Cheer

Friends and Family may cheer at the track, or catch their runner/walker at the Banks Trailhead or where Crossman Place crosses the trail.
