Molalla River Trail Race
Molalla River Trail Race: race description
Today (10/13), the state director of BLM (our race is on their land) has officially closed all of their developed recreation sites through the end of the storm, which has effectively taken the difficult decision out of our hands. That means that Oct. 15th is no longer the date of our race. The new race date will be November 12th.
This is not your parent’s flat road race, this is a breathtakingly challenging 100% trail race! Just 20 min SE of Molalla the Molalla River Corridor is a beautiful area with an amazing multi-use (horse, biking, hiking) trail system. Our race begins with our inaugural half marathon (open to runners only) at 9:00am, then at 9:15am the 10k (open to runners only) will start, at 9:30am the 5k (walkers and runners) will start. All racers start on a double track trail just up the hill from the Hardy Creek trail head. Routes change from double track to single track trails part way through the course. Be ready for some monster hills, but the hills are the only monster’s you need to look out for, as local folklore and Animal Planet’s Finding Bigfoot has placed big foot sighting’s in the region. You can choose to sign up for either the Bigfoot 5K, Bigfoot 10K, or Bigfoot half marathon (distances are close but not exact). Note: There is no cell phone service in the area.
Pleast note the race is capped at 150 per event with a total cap at 450 total participants across all events.
