Blue Lake Runs 5k, 15k &, Free Kids Run: race description

Lace up your shoes and join us for one of the longest running ORRC races, 41 years to be exact. Choose between a 5K (3.1 mi.) run or 5K walk, or the 15K run (9.3 mi.) Plus a free kids 1/2 mile run. Celebrate your accomplishments at our after event BBQ featuring hotdogs, drinks and dessert.

Participants in all 5K &, 15K events will also recieve a short-sleeved shirt and FINISHERS MEDAL.

Blue Lake Park: Directions and Rules

Blue Lake Park is located east of Portland, near Troutdale and Fairview, Oregon. Take I-84 east to Exit #14 and follow signs to the North to Blue Lake Park, or take Marine Drive east of I-205 to Blue Lake Road. NOTE: Blue Lake Park also charges $5.00 per car (extra) and prohibits pets and alcohol. Please leave Fido at home since the Park will not let him in! Real restrooms are at the Park. Please observe all Park rules!

Free Kids Run (Age 10 and under) Details

A free 1/2-Mile Kids' Run starts at 10:30 am, for those 10 years and younger (no awards, but ALL GET BIBS). There are no shirts in the Kids' Run. This is a fun event aimed at getting the whole family to the Park to enjoy the day. Parents may run with their kids!

5K (3.1 Mile) Fitness Walk Details

The 5K Walk will start at 11:10 a.m., at the same time and place as the 5K Run. The focus of the Walk is fun, fitness and encouraging walking and walkers (and is not a racewalk, but racewalkers are welcome to come and take part!). The walk is non-judged so you must walk 100% of the time. RUNNING ANY PART OF IT DISQUALIFIES YOU FROM THE AWARDS. ORRC Blue Lake Run WELCOMES ALL WALKERS!

Awards

Finisher medals will be provided to all participants and the top six finishers in each age group will receive a ribbon. In addition, we will have prize drawings at the finish, so stay for the awards and chance to win something.

Volunteer

If you, or a family member or friend, are willing to be a race official, great! We definitely need volunteers, &, it's more fun to participate when you have family or friends with you. Volunteers help with set-up or registration, and then help on the course or at the finish. Volunteers are warmly invited – and are GREATLY appreciated!

Just email volunteer@oregonroadrunnersclub.org and include the event you are interested in! Plus you get $5 in ORRC Bucks which you can use toward races or membership.
