Crooked Creek Crawl, Walk, Run 5K and 10K
Crooked Creek Crawl, Walk, Run 5K and 10K: race description
The second annual Crooked Creek Crawl, Walk, Run 5K and 10K is located in the beautiful Crooked Creek Lake Park. It is one of the most well maintained and variety of trails available in Western PA, if not all of Pennsylvania. It is a wonderful place to take your family, friends and pets. There are approximately 35-40 miles of permanently marked trails. Two longer loops consist of about 18 and 35 miles and several smaller loops (that will be used for our course) will take you on a glorious run. You will encounter short hills, plenty of fall foliage and a variety of footing and possibly water crossings along the way.
Runners from last year's race complimented the variety of our trails, the difficulty but also the beautiful scenery along the way. We are working on expanding our events to include more of our available trails. You can check out some of our trains on MapMyRide.com.
This is a trail course and rugged terrain! It is 90% in the woods, there is rugged terrain, possible MUD, water, rocks and such. It is a well maintained course and from last years runners, a very difficult course for most. There is ample parking and even camping hook-ups for $30 if you would like to come out the night before and camp.
Located in Ford City, it is a beautiful park and grounds that are well maintained. Bug spray is suggested, old shoes for the potential mud on the course, and energy for a challenging course.
The race will start at 8:00am, registration and packet pick-up will begin at 7:00am at the pavilion as you enter the park. The start at finish line will be the same location, and there is ample free parking.
Food, drinks and awards will be available for after the race.
