KSQ Muschroom Cap 13.1: race description
As autumn embraces southern Chester County you'll be able to run through the quaint Mushroom Capital of the World, the backroads of Kennett Township, along the macadam lanes through the horse-country of East Marlborough, and returning to the Olympic finish on the high school stadium track.
“,This race is an amazing combination of small town charm, beautiful scenery and extraordinary people, which makes it fun and rewarding for everyone who participates. A premier destination race right here in small town Kennett Square!”,
The KSQ Mushroom Cap 13.1 will be a race where every runner counts!
This race will begin and end in the Kennett High School football stadium. An Olympic start on the track, racing out of the back of the stadium and into the quaint Kennett Square Borough. From there you'll travel through the scenic and rustic backroads of Kennett and East Marlborough Townships. Runners will return back into Kennett Borough and to the high school track finish line.
There is a 3:30 minute (16-minute mile) cutoff time for this race. If you are not at the 9 mile marker by 9:25AM you will be asked to leave the course in the safety vehicle provided. After this time aid stations will be closed, police will not be monitoring traffic, roads will be re-opened, making safe passage to the finish very difficult. If you do not feel that you can maintain a 16-minute mile or less over the 13.1 mile course, for your safety, please consider a different event.
This is a rain or shine event. Our goal is to start this event on time at 7AM and have every runner safely finished by 10:30AM.
