The Belmont Plateau Cross Country Hall of Fame will be established in 2015. Philadelphia Athletic Charities Inc( a 501
C3 company established in 2004) will be managing it and changing it's name to the BPCCHOF this year. PAC has a 10
year tradition of producing local race events for local charities has come up with the idea of establishing the Hall and
and will now change it's focus on establishing and managing the PPCCHOF. This Hall of Fame will be unique, since it
will focus on nominating any runner, coach, team, official, who either achieved a high level of performance at Belmont
Plateau or in another arena, but have competed in cross country racing at Belmont Plateau. Nominees will be chosen
by a special awards committee with a vast knowledge of the sport and venue and will come from all the ranks of youth –,
senior runners. The BPCCHOF mission will be to continue the traditions of Cross Country at Belmont Plateau that
where established over 50 years ago, nominate worthy members to the Hall of Fame, create a “,Wall of Fame”, at
Belmont Plateau that will display HOF members, and establish an annual education scholarship fund for local high
school runners who display merit in cross country as well as in the classroom. Charter members to the Hall of Fame will
be in announced in 2016.
Many thanks to the BLUE CROSS BROAD STREET RUN and Jim Marino (Philadelphia Dept Parks and Recreation).
