Run 4 Their Lives - Knoxville: race description

Run 4 Their Lives is a Freedom 4/24 event that raises awareness and funds to bring sexually exploited women and children into freedom.

Freedom 4/24 is partnering with several local Knoxville organizations for this event:

Community Coalitition Against Human Trafficking (CCAHT) (  is a group helping to unite and equip our community to end modern day slavery by providing a collaborative space for counter-trafficking work to flourish, raising overall awareness about the issue of human trafficking, facilitating training and equipping of primary responders regarding human trafficking and illuminating a clear restorative path for victims.

Street Hope ( is a faith-based organization leading churches, community organizations and individuals on a comprehensive path to end domestic minor sex trafficking (DMST) in Tennessee and in the US. Street Hope trains people by spreading awareness of DMST, connecting churches to community services meeting the needs of vulnerable children, and engaging individuals in making a difference for justice in the lives of our community.


Race Course Directions

Run 4 Their Lives Race Route

START &, FINISH LINES are located on Wall Ave in front of the TVA East Tower, located exactly in line with the water main cover in the street and the hydrant on the north side of the street.

TURNAROUND POINT: Located on Luttrell Street in line with the 4th utility pole from the corner of the intersection with W. Glenwood Ave Pole #24392.  Also at house #1310 Luttrell.

COURSE consists of an out and back route on downtown Knoxville Streets with much of the route in the historic 4th and Gill neighborhoods.
·         Starts on Wall Ave and turns left on Gay Street.

·         Heads north on Gay until the West Depot Street intersection on the north side of the Gay Street Viaduct.

·         *** The 1 Mile turn-around is at KARM/Water Station B

·         Runners continue on Gay Street all the way to Emory Place.

·         Turn Right on Emory Place, cross Central Avenue, and then head east on 4th Avenue.

·         Turn left on Luttrell Avenue.  Follow Luttrell all the way to the turnaround about 50 yards short of West Glenwood Avenue.

·         At the Caswell Avenue intersection, outgoing runners run to the right of the island and returning runners do the same.

·         Returning runners then head south on Luttrell, right on 4th, cross Central and then west on Emory Place.  They turn left on Gay Street, keeping to  the right of the cones.  They continue south on Gay (cones on their left) all the way to Wall Street where they turn right to finish.

Race Day Details

RACE LOCATION: The race will start and end at Market Square in downtown Knoxville. There is plenty of free parking in the city garages and along the street. View maps here:

EVENT TIME: The 5k run and 1 mile walk will begin at 10:00 am. **Please arrive by 9:30am at the latest on race day. 


ADVOCACY: Become a fundraiser! Click the Fundraiser tab to set up a personalized R4TL web page –, raise $50 and you run free! Ask your friends and family to support your efforts to run for freedom and fight injustice!

COST: If you choose not to fundraise, the race registration fee is $24 until January 13 and $30 after January 13 until race day. Online registration closes on January 26 at 11:59pm.
