Mudder&#39,s Day Madness 5K: race description

Join us for the 2017 Mudder's Day Madness 5K and enjoy new obstacles, new trails, food trucks, and kid friendly activities! Race is limited to 1000 participants! And, in celebration of Harmony Family Center's 20th Anniversary, organizers are offering 20% off (discount already taken) until December 31, 2016!

Proceeds from the Mudder’s Day Madness 5K benefit Harmony Family Center and their service to children through foster care, adoption, and post adoption counseling and programs.

Date, Time, and Location: Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 10:00 AM (all participants must arrive by 9:45 AM) at Montvale at 4901 Montvale Road, Maryville, TN 37803. 

Start Waves: Please note that there will be multiple start waves this year beginning at 10:00 am and starting every 10 minutes after that time. Participants will be notified of their wave in the week prior to the race. All participants must be onsite by 9:15 AM to park as the main gates will close at 9:45 AM for the event and traffic will be slow as cars park in the field.

Course Description: Challenging 5K course with many hills and obstacles along the way, as well as rocky, slippery, uneven terrain throughout. While the winners may finish in the 20 minute range, some competitors will take more than 1 hour. 

Registration and Fees: The event will be capped at 1000 participants. Cost is $20 for ages 17 and under and $35 for 18 and older through April 23, 2017. Beginning April 24, cost is $30 for ages 17 and Under and $45 through April 30. No online registration after April 30. Cost on race day will also be $45 if race day registration is available. You do not need to be in a team to register –, you can register as an individual.

Teams: A team consists of 5 or more runners. Teams MUST finish together –, NO EXCEPTIONS. Team scores will be based on team time. If a team loses a member then the team will not receive a time. No changes to team rosters can be made on race day. Teams are NOT allowed to register or make changes on race day.

Minors ages 8 –, 11: Minor children between the ages of 8 and 11 may participate in the Mudders Day Madness 5K under parental supervision only. All provisions of the release of liability signed by the adult or guardian of the minor child shall also apply to minor children ages 8 to 11. 

Mudder's Day Swag: All participants will receive a race t-shirt and other swag. Note: Registrations after April 30, 2016 are not guaranteed a shirt.

Post Run Fun: Remember to bring cash and enjoy food from local food truck vendors and Cruze Farm! 

Race Packet Pick-Up: This information will be emailed to participants.

Awards and Rewards: Overall, Age Group, and Team winners will be recognized.

Results: Results will be available on www.ktc.org.

Course Etiquette: Harmony Family Center Staff and Mudder's Day Madness Volunteers reserve the right to disqualify anyone who exhibits unsportsmanlike conduct or is abusive to volunteers. 

Safety: There will be one water stop on the course and participants will pass it two times. First Aid and Rescue will also be onsite. Due to insurance regulations and liability reasons, no headsets, earphones, bicycles, baby strollers, roller blades, or pets are allowed on the course.

Spectators: Spectators are NOT allowed on the course for safety and liability reasons. There will be an area for spectators to take photos and cheer on competitors near the finish line.
