One Way 5K: race description

Welcome to the first annual One Way 5K: One God, One Word, One Truth, benefitting the children of Meadowland. This inaugural race is the culmination of a 12 week volunteer led Bible study that includes training for a 5K. The kids of Meadowland who have completed the study will run on June 11th to celebrate their achievement.  Please join us to congratulate these young runners.

All registered runners/walkers can compete for overall and age group awards. This family friendly race is mostly paved, weaving throughout the beautiful, tree-covered 42 acres of Meadowland, over to the Stone Gate neighborhood and back to the Burdick Community Center for a celebration of the completion of the Bible study, training and race. The Boerne police department will be directing traffic on Old San Antonio Road until all runners and walkers have safely passed. Walkers who want a shorter distance can sign up for the Family Fun Walk which measures about a mile and has its own set of fun prizes. The One Way 5K promises to be a wonderful morning of fun and fellowship!

Meadowland is a residential program run by Roy Maas Youth Alternatives (RMYA) that provides a healing, therapeutic home for children in state care as they recover from the trauma of abuse and neglect. Since 1976, RMYA has helped nearly 80,000 children and families through residential and counseling programs. All money raised from the proceeds of the One Way 5k support the Meadowland program. Together, we are restoring hope, one child at a time.
