Wilmington Roadrunners Turkey Trot 4 Mile Trail Run/Walk

The Wilmington Roadrunners Club, with proceeds from this event, is partnering with Carolina Beach State Park and Fort Fisher State Recreation Area to continue a discretionary fund for the park. Proceeds will help support park projects to be determined by Staff at both parks for special purchases not allocated by their budget. Join with the Wilmington Roadrunners Club and help us enhance and promote their valuable resources that are Carolina Beach State Park and Fort Fisher State Recreation Area.

Awards:

First male and female finishers receive two night ocean front accommodiations at the Golden Sands Hotel, Carolina Beach. Age group awards recognize 3 deep in men's and women's categories as follows: 8 and under, 9-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and up. Awards to first place male and female masters. Larger age groups may be awarded more deeply. No specific walk awards are given, however walkers may qualify for awards based on finish time.

Race begins at Carolina Beach State Park Marina. Runners will proceed on paved road and then enter well marked trails through pine forest and over wooden footbridges. Footing is generally good with occasional sand, roots, and limb hazards. Water is available at the start and finish. Trail conditions may result in slightly diffrent distance.

Parking will be at the Carolina Beach State Park Marina Parking Lot. Follow Highway 421 South from Wilmington across Snow's Cut Bridge into Carolina Beach. Turn right at the second light onto Dow Road. Turn right approximately 2/10 mile into Carolina Beach State Park. Follow Road to marina parking. Park in Designated spaces only.

Limited parking is available at the finish line on Nature Trail Way, which also serves as the Breakfast/Awards Venue. This area is a short walk back to the Marina.

Tuesday, November 22nd from 9 am –, 6 pm at Omega Sports, Hanover Center, Oleander Drive (Wilmington, NC). Registrants will receive a 10% discount on most store items durning this period. Registration is also available at RunSignUp.com

Race Day Registration/Packet Pick-up will be at the Carolina Beach State Park Vistors Center on Saturday, the 26th, from 7 –, 8:30 AM. The center is approximately 1/4 mile on right upon entering the park! Get you packet there, then proceed to the marina to park.
