ORRC Y2K: race description

Ready to run your first half marathon or 10K of 2017?  The 2017 Y2K event features a Half Marathon Run, a 10K Run, and a 10K Walk.  The 10K Run/Walk is part of ORRC's 2017 10K Series.  All races start and finish at Tom McCall School in Forest Grove, Oregon and the course is run on country roads in scenic wine country.  The half marathon and 10K courses are together for the first three miles, then split, and then rejoin for the last 1.5 miles.  Participants can warm up inside the school cafeteria before and after the race and are also treated to a delicious post race pancake breakfast (prepared by and benefitting the local Meals on Wheels organization).

Awards

Plaques to the overall male and female winners and the overall male and female masters winners in the half marathon and 10K runs and walks. The top five finishers in each five year age group will earn ribbons. Awards will not be mailed. All finishers will receive a medal.

Both races start and finish at Tom McCall East/West School (1341 Pacific Ave) in Forest Grove, covering country roads in scenic wine country. Both races are together for the first 3 miles, then split, rejoining for the last 1.5 miles. For course maps go to http://orrc.net/races/y2k/Y2K-Map.gif
