Run for Jack New Years 5K: race description
Run for Jack is a charity event whose mission is to raise awareness and support for those with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC). Additionally the event engages the community in a fun event through a 5k run, one mile walk and kids fun run. All proceeds are donated to the Arthrogryposis Support Group.
Awards will be presented at 11:30 am to the top 3 male and female finishers plus age group awards.
About Jack
About Jack
John Michael Cavanaugh aka “,Jack”, was born on December 31, 2013. He was born at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and was diagnosed with a rare condition called Amyoplasia, a type of arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (or AMC). Jack has joint contractures in all four of his limbs causing him very limited range of motion. In 2014 Jack had surgery to correct his hips. After a long recovery he began to stand for the first time. This year after months and months of practice he started walking and now he is unstoppable!
