World of Mae 5K &, 1 Mile Fun Run
World of Mae 5K &, 1 Mile Fun Run: race description
The 3rd annual World of Mae 5k Run/Walk &, 1 Mile FunRun takes place in the scenic and historic Hartwood Acres Park during the gorgeous autumn foliage. Both the 5K and 1 mile courses wind along beautiful nature paths through the forest and sprawling fields. ALL terrain is smooth to ensure accessibility for strollers, wheelchairs, and runners and walkers of ALL paces. Live musicians play every half mile along the course so competitive and leisurely participants alike will feel welcome and celebrated. Online registration closes Friday September 30th @ 5pm. We will also have same day registration but will be more time consuming for participants.
World of Mae provides a unique experience with live music, free face painting, and free hula hoop troop interactive entertainment. A basket raffle and yummy food round out the event. This time of year sparks the magic in all of us so (friendly) costumes are welcome.
All proceeds of this event go to World of Mae, a foundation created to benefit the daily life of Ada Mae Grashow, a little girl living with Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. Register by September 14th to receive a free World of Mae shirt on the day of the event (October 1st)! This is not a dog friendly event as many of our participants maybe people with sensory sensitivities and needs. If dogs do come we ask that your dog stay at a distance and separate from the crowd. Thank you for your understanding:) Please follow Ada's story at facebook.com/worldofmae.home
