Pilot CrossKnox 15K: race description
Date, Time, &, Place: Sunday October 11, 2015 at 8:00 AM beginning at Morningside Park at the Alex Haley Statue and finishing at Bearden Elementary School. This is a point to point race. All registration and post race activity takes place at Bearden Elementary School.
Course Description and Highlights: USATF Certification Pending. The course is a point to point race run almost entirely on Knoxville's Greenways.
Registration &, Entry Fee: Early Registration Fee is $30. Race Day Registration Fee is $40. No t-shirt - deduct $5 anytime. Race day registration is from 6:30 -7:30 a.m. at Bearden Elementary. No refunds and no transfers.
T-shirts: Long-sleeved shirts (Unisex). Pre-registered runners will receive shirts at packet pick-up or on race day. Late registrants as supplies last or at a later date.
Transportation to Morningside Park Start: Buses will transport runners from Bearden Elementary to Morningside Park before the race. First bus will run at 6:30 and the last one will run at 7:30
Awards: Prize Money to top 3 overall (M/F Amt TBD) and top masters (M/F Amt TBD). Awards to top 3 Overall, top Masters (40+), Grandmasters (50+), Senior Grandmasters(60+) for Male and Female. Awards to the top Clydesdale (male, 200 lbs+) and Athena (female, 150 lbs+). Overall winners not eligible for age division awards (three deep). Awards must be picked up during the awards ceremony. Age division awards will not be mailed.
Team Competition: This race is on the Grand Prix Team Competition schedule. Please visit www.ktc.org for details. Teams must pre-register.
Grand Prix Points: 2015 Grand Prix Points awarded. Remember, to be eligible for Grand Prix awards, you must be a member of the KTC and you must volunteer for at least 3 events.
Refreshments: Refreshments provided for participants only after the run/walk at Bearden Elementary School. Results: Compete results will be available on the KTC Website at www.ktc.org.
Race Etiquette: Due to insurance regulations, roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course. The course closes in 2 hours and 30 minutes.
