MM Moscow Half Marathon: race description
Registration Online registration is possible on the Moscow Marathon website. Registration for participation in the competition is not possible on the race day. Start Package Pick Up Participants may pick up their start packages during the EXPO at the Southern Sport Complex (at the territory of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex). Start package The start package contains: • Start number with timing chip; • A wristband for clothing bag identification; • A clothing bag; • A commemorative T-shirt; • A finisher’s medal (with the exception of participants running the distance of 3 km or 1.9 miles, who do not receive medals). Documents required for the start package pick up Admission to participate in the competition and the start package pick up is possible upon providing the following documents: • The original of the identification document; • The original of one of the two versions of the health certificate with the stamp of the medical organization, the signature and personal stamp of the doctor. Health Certificate Taking part in the race, the participant confirms that he/she regularly undergoes medical examinations to ensure his/her health is good enough to participate in the race (according with p. 5 of art. 24, 04.12.2007, Federal Law 329 "On Physical Culture and Sport in the Russian Federation"); he/she does not have any medical or other health restrictions that may endanger or limit his/her participation in the race, including no contraindications to prolonged physical activity; the state of his/her health allows him/her to participate in the race; he/she assumes all the risks and negative consequences associated with violation of this condition. The race participant must confirm his/her health condition is good enough by providing a health certificate issued by a medical organization licensed to provide physiotherapy and sports medicine procedures. Health certificate should contain the conclusion about the permission to participate in track and field competitions for a specific distance and the date of the race. Also, the participant assumes full responsibility for the authenticity of the health certificate, and that he/she got it in accordance with the procedure established by the law (on the basis of a medical examination conducted by an authorized medical organization), and he/she assumes all the negative consequences associated with the violation of this condition. Medical documents provided to the commission will not be returned. A photocopy of the health certificate is accepted by the commission only upon providing the original health certificate. The Race The place of the race is the territory of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex and the territory of the Moscow city. The start and finish areas of the half marathon are situated near the South Sports Complex of the “Luzhniki” on Novoluzhnetskiy driveway. The start and finish areas of the satellite races are situated at Luzhnetskaya embankment. Race Day Schedule • 07:30 am - Opening of the start-finish area, changing rooms and baggage room are opening for the race participants • From 09 am to 09:30 am - Start of 10 km (6.2 miles) race • From 10 am to 10:30 am - Start of the half marathon race (21,1 km or 13.1 miles) • From 11:30 am to 11:45 am - Start of 5 km (3.1 miles) run • From 12:15 pm to 12:20 pm - Start of 3 km (1.9 miles) run • From 12 pm to 1:30 pm – Awards ceremony for winners and prize-winners of the competition • 1:30 pm – Closing of the finish. The time limit to run the half marathon is 3 hours.
Half marathon (13.1 miles), 10 km (6.2 miles), 5 km (3.1 miles), 3 km (1.9 miles).
Requirements for participants
To participate in 21.1 km (13.1 miles) race, persons of 18 years of age and older are allowed. To participate in 10 km (6.2 miles) race, persons of 16 years of age and older are allowed. To participate in 5 km (3.1 miles) run, persons of 14 years of age and older are allowed. To participate in 3 km (1.9 miles) run, persons of 10 years of age and older are allowed.
