Good afternoon.

Spinal problems often become a stumbling block in running. But this is not a medical contraindication for running. It all depends on how much you are ready to make additional efforts to relieve a shock load during running and relieve stress on the spinal cord after training and during rest days.

Protrusion is not the most serious diagnosis I've ever seen in professional runners. One of my close friends - master of sports of international class and a member of the Russian marathon team, had two herniated disks. For a while, it gave him a lot of problems until he had finally found a good doctor who explained to him that injections and ointments would not solve the problem. He advised him to do a set of exercises to strengthen and stretch his spine, which he should do at least two or three times a day. This man is now over 40, but he is still "in service" and stands for one of the teams of security ministries.

So, there is only one recipe: to strengthen and relieve stress in problem areas.
