Calluses are unpleasant but, unfortunately, inevitable in many cases. But you can minimize the risk of calluses. Proper shoes are crucial for this. You should select running shoes which are half a size - or even a full size - longer than your normal shoe size.

In addition, you may apply moisturizing waterproof crème between the toes before running. Strange to say, vaseline is best suited for this purpose.

If there are certain areas of feet where calluses occurred during trainings before, you can make it safer for you and apply a fabric-based plaster to these areas (a plaster should be applied firmly so that it won’t be unstuck during running).

Wish you «calluses-free» marathon!)
