Good day.
What's a good running pace for a half marathon 2 weeks before the marathon race: marathon pace or usual training one?
Master of Sports of International class in track and field athletics, winner of the Zurich marathon, participant of the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics, multiple European Cup and Russian championships medalist, coach of the school “I Love Running”
Greetings!
I can give you an example of my training cycle for a marathon.
The longest cross-country run should be performed 4-5 weeks before the marathon race.
A final (active) training should be done at least 10-12 days before the race start.
As for running a half-marathon 2 weeks before the marathon I would recommend you to run it at a gentle training pace in order not to endanger your recovery before the start. You should try to cumulate but not to waste energy a couple of weeks before the marathon start.
Good afternoon.
I have the following question: how many days are required to recover after a marathon?
How long is it recommended not to train if you're an amatuer?
Good afternoon,
What time of day is the running efficiency especially high?
Is it OK to run with “heavy legs”? How to recover?
Is it possible to prepare for a marathon in 3 months if I’ve never run before?
In September I finished my first marathon in 4 hours and 55 minutes.
Is it possible to run a marathon under 3:30 after a year or is a one-year training plan not enough to achieve the goal?
Good day,
I mainly engage in street workout. How to add running to my training program properly and achieve balance between street workout and running trainings?
Good day.
I work from morning till night. And I can begin my evening workout at 21:00 only and respectively I can finish it at 23:00-23:30.
